My promise in this video is very simple:
I'm going to share with you 100% why you are stuck in your business at a certain level, whether that's been like that for months or even years, and how to break through that. I'll explain what's actually keeping you stuck, rather than just considering this or that marketing angle. I've tried it all, and this is not a scam. I'm going to share with you what's really going on beneath the hood as to why this is happening. So, stick to the end of this video.
As a marketing and business growth implementation company over the past 10 years, we've conducted around 8,000 consultations every year and helped thousands of business owners. In doing so, many patterns emerge, and we clearly see why some are stuck versus those that are actually having success. Let me go through these slides and video and explain why you may be stuck in certain areas in your business and perhaps even in your life. That's my promise: if you stick to the end, you'll get the answers you may have been seeking.
Here's the thing: there's a saying, "You don't know what you don't know," and in marketing, we call this being problem unaware. Sometimes, when we're stuck in life or business, we feel like we're searching for answers and think there's an answer out there, but we don't know what it is. If we're unaware of what the problem might be, how do we fix it if we don't know what to fix?
First of all, you have to understand there are levels to the game.
What does it mean for you and why you're possibly stuck? There is the psychology of change. It's really important to briefly talk about why it's so hard to succeed in anything. As I said, my promise is that you will know why you're stuck and what to do to finally grow your business and other areas of your life through this video.
What got you here won't get you there. Quite often, we have a business owner who's been doing all the right things and got their business to a certain level by taking certain actions, thinking in a certain way, and having a specific perspective. However, to get to the next level, you can't keep doing the same thing. Nothing changes. We have to recognize there are levels to being a boss. You might be stuck on level one or three, trying to get to level seven. The challenge is knowing what perspective, thinking, or knowledge you need to get there.
Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. In marketing, we call this being problem unaware. If you use phrases like "I'll figure it out," you're trading on hope without a game plan, which is dangerous. It's like a drug called hopium, right? Hope marketing. You have to understand there are levels of competence or skill sets.
Level one is unconscious optimism, and there's also unconscious incompetence.
Let me explain. There are four levels of competence or skill:
I'll use a simple example to make this clear. When you first learn to drive a car, you're at unconscious incompetence—you don't know what you don't know. Then, when you start learning, you become conscious of your incompetence. Eventually, you move into conscious competence, where you can drive but still have to think about it. Finally, you reach unconscious competence, where driving becomes second nature.
Often, business owners wanting to move from level three to six or seven are at unconscious incompetence. They don't even know what to look for because they've never done it. They lack the perspective of hindsight, which is difficult. This might mean you've tried ads, agencies, called leads, and faced many challenges, thinking, "Is this a scam?" Ego, especially for men, is not your friend; it becomes a roadblock.
Understanding the three-phase failure loop in business and life:
Successful people push through these phases by leaning into learning and staying aware of their emotions. Discomfort is part of the process, and no one is born with the skills—they are learned. Understanding and accepting discomfort is crucial.
Breaking the cycle:
People often cycle through phases one to three, but to succeed, they need to stay in the Valley of Despair, lean into the experience, and move towards informed optimism. This involves small breakthroughs and iterations, leading to success.
The solution is to push through and recognize success requires hard work.
